SNACK is a not-for-profit organization that supports children, teens, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other similar developmental and behavioral disabilities by providing after-school and weekend recreational programs designed and staffed to address their needs. In addition, SNACK’s provides vocational training and supported employment opportunities.
A few of the young adults on the tour were already familiar with Chef Mike through SNACK’s partnership with Columbia; in 2018, two SNACK members were offered positions with Columbia Dining at John Jay Dining Hall.
SNACK is also a grant recipient of Columbia Community Service (CCS), Columbia University’s giving campaign that supports local nonprofit organizations to help address the needs of underserved individuals in our local community. At SNACK’s 2018 Annual Fundraiser, CCS and Columbia Dining were honored for their contribution to advancing SNACK’s mission.
